Netflix Reset Code

I came home from a long day at work on Monday and the first thing the kids greeted me with was, “Dad, Netflix isn’t working in your room!” My first thought was… why don’t they watch TV in their room, on their iPad or on their computer. My second thought was, uh oh… I hope my wife wasn’t stuck at home and the TV in our room didn’t work… again.

First off, I have an Asus Cube (Google TV), but from what I have read, this trick also works on Playstation and Samsung Blu-ray players. So, I went to the room and tried to launch Mad Men. I got an error on the screen with an error code “aip-701.”

So, I tried another show. One i have never watched, then one that I was in the middle of watching (Cheech and Chong). Both with the same error code and pop up.

I searched the all-knowing internets and found a solution i thought was a joke. The writer said that there is a special (secret code) that you can use and it’s based on a variation of the old Contra Code.  I told myself to give it a shot with no expectation (actually my expectation was that it wouldn’t work), and to my surprise it brought up a new window which asked if i wanted to Deactivate.

I deactivated, then shut the application.  When I re-launched the app, it asked me to log in and Netflix worked once again.  Give it a try if you have issues with your Netflix!
